A New Game....

Jersey posted a new game on her blog and I felt compelled to participate. The one requirement was that I had to post her responses here on MY blog which would be simple EXCEPT for the fact that her site won't seem to let me cut and paste. So, if I miss some salient details, I apologize to Jersey and all her readers.

From putting my name in her comments, she would:
* tell me what song/movie reminds her of me
* pick a color/flavor of jello to wrestle with me
* say something that only makes sense to her and me
* tell me her first memory of me
* tell me what animal I remind her of
* ask something that she's always wondered

Her answers:
* Bit part by the Lemonheads
* Ew. (I mean, this is my sister after all)
* Neeneenanimo
* Oh man, why did mom and dad have another one when they achieved perfection with me?
* kitties
* how did you (meaning karchamb) get such long eyelashes when mine (Jersey's) are so short?

The answer to that last one is simple. The world of genetics doles things out. I got the big eyelashes, she got the big chest. Somehow, I'm thinking she's not all that willing to trade.

Meme

Stole this one from Jersey who stole it from Fond of Elves
01. When you look at yourself in the mirror, what's the first thing you look at? my hair, because the only time I bother to look in the mirror is first thing in the morning when my hair has not yet been tamed and it is flying everywhere.
02. How much cash do you have on you? Technically none, as I have no pockets, but I've got a bit of cash in my purse since my friend paid my last night for the Pat Benatar concert
03. What's a word that rhymes with "TEST"? Guest
04. Favourite plant? I own no plants because I kill them.
05. Who is the 4th person on your missed call list on your cell phone? I have no idea. It was some number I didn't know, so I didn't bother to answer
06. What is your main ring tone on your phone? Blackbird by the Beatles.
07. What shirt are you wearing? two shirts -- a pink tank with a v-neck over it, both from H & M
08. Do you "label" yourself? I've recently decided to embrace my inner geek girl.
09. Name brand of your shoes currently wearing? Is target a brand?
10. Do you prefer a bright or dark room? Dark. I often get reprimanded for not having enough light when I read.
11. What did you have for breakfast? A peanut butter/chocolate chip granola bar and a diet coke.
12. Last movie you rented from Blockbuster/local video store? No clue. I can't remember the last time we rented a movie. (Jersey, this one was on the blog from whom fondofelves got the meme)

Obviously losing my mind...

Well, it is 3:30 am and I am wide awake because the things that my current employer is planning to do to my current position in the moments after I leave are giving me a horrible stomach ache and keeping me wide awake. Sometimes I wish that I was one of those people who showed up to work, got their paycheck and went home and never thought about their job again, but I am not one of those people. I have instead spent most of the last 48 hours worried and pissed off about the plans being made by people who really don't understand what I do.

Since this kind of worry is obviously a sign that I'm losing my mind, here are a few other notes:

* They finally called. Apparently, our 10am phone conversation was switched to 2:30. When they called, they didn't even say anything about not being available at the agreed upon time. Just said, "this is us from the school" as if they had never scheduled a specific time. I'm still going for an interview, but WOW does this place have some red flags for me.

* A good way to get your mind off the idiots at work is to go see Pat Benatar. I realize that she is now 52 years old, but this woman is amazing. After 25 years of singing her music, I still want to be her.

* 3:45 am is a stupid time to be awake. It is way too early to be up, but (for someone who gets up at 5:30 or so for work) it's too late to feel like there's any hope for a good night's sleep.

Things we need to understand

So, here's a big thing about karchamb that those out in the blogosphere need to understand. Karchamb is extremely time-sensitive. I like plans, goals and I hate to be late for anything.

I mention this because, after a week of just not bothering to return my phone call in response to their message asking to set up an interview, the folks from a position for which I applied called yesterday and asked if we could talk then or if I would prefer the following morning (now, today).

As I was in my car and therefore could not access my calendar, I said that this morning would be great. She said, "why don't you call me at 10?" to which I said, sure. I did. I got voicemail -- and, it should be said, I got the multi-ring, not the "I'm on the other line go directly to voicemail" stuff. It is now 20 minutes after 10 and I haven't heard back. And I'm wondering -- are these people that karchamb can work for???
