More love of Thomas Friedman....

I've mentioned my love of Thomas Friedman before. He writes simply enough for just about anyone to understand, but is able to be poignant at a time when most are just being political. He is no particular fan of President Bush, but argues that the administration we have is the one that needs to be at work to fix things -- we cannot assume that we can "hold out" another 4 years before we have an administration we might like (or at least respect) a little more. Below is a quote from his most recent NY Times column. See the Times on Thursdays and Sundays for more.

"I have long believed that any American general or senior diplomat who wants to work in Iraq should have to pass a test. It would be a very simple test. It would consist of only one question: 'Do you think the shortest distance between two points is a straight line?' If you answered 'Yes,' you would not be allowed to work in Iraq." -- Thomas Friedman
