I've been abused on an almost daily basis lately about my failure to post. Part of me (a very small part) feels a little guilty about that. The larger part, though, thinks that, if reading this is what fills your day, you really need to find a hobby.
So, here's what's been going on: The frushpression continues since, despite the size of my university, I continue to be a one person office. I am also a one person office that each of my constituencies (faculty, students, center staff, etc.) sees as "theirs." This is not easy, since every time I go to a meeting, I get another responsibility added to my job description. My boss joked that this is a test of staff elasticity -- how far will staff stretch before they either quit or have a breakdown? I told him not to test that theory.
Other than that, we're just looking forward to our little getaway. For those of you who don't know, Brian and I leave for San Francisco in 10 days (but who's counting, right?) I'm not sure if we're looking forward to San Fran nearly as much as we are to not being at work. Brian's been working at a frenzied pace and my desk suggests that an insane person inhabits my office.
So, this is a boring post. I have nothing exciting to say, and nothing good to comment on. I have, however, posted something so that Brian Tobin can get off my back.
I promise to write something better next time.
