Some places suck. Some don't.
In a recent CNN article about donations coming in from around the world to help with Katrina (http://www.cnn.com/2005/WEATHER/09/02/katrina.world/index.html), Germany said (without providing any funds) that it would "offer aid or money if requested by Washington, though officials said the U.S. was well equipped to deal with natural disasters." Sri Lanka on the other hand, which is still just barely recovering from the tsunami, has already pledged $25,000. That may not seem like much, but it may be all they have.
Thanks to Australia who has already donated A$10 million (US$7.7 million) plus a team of emergency management specialists and Japan who donated $200,000 to the Red Cross and would also provide up to $300,000 in aid supplies such as tents and power generators. It's nice to know that someone out there is thinking of our people, even as the Netherlands spends their time critiquing our preparedness.

I can't stop thinking about the poor animals. Everytime I see a rescue and there is a dog on the roof with the person, I am screaming at the tv - TAKE THE DOG TOO OR I WILL FIND YOU AND KILL YOU!
